My Reiki (En)

Organisation type

My Reiki is a non-profit cultural and educational association registered in Italy.
The association promotes the practice and teaching of Reiki through an ethical, relational, and decolonial approach, welcoming practitioners from different Reiki backgrounds and lineages. Its work is grounded in dialogue, inclusivity, and respect for the plurality of ways in which Reiki is practiced and understood across cultural contexts.

History

Founded in 2018, My Reiki has developed as a space for practice, education, and reflection on Reiki as a living and relational discipline. While remaining attentive to the historical roots of the practice, the association approaches Reiki through an ethical and anthropological perspective that emphasizes contextual awareness, transcultural dialogue, and inclusivity.

Over time, My Reiki has brought together educational initiatives, research activities, and cultural projects that investigate the intersections of body, care, and landscape. This work is informed by ongoing engagement with academic discussions on spirituality, embodiment, and cultural translation, fostering a reflective and non-dogmatic understanding of Reiki.

Goals and projects

My Reiki’s mission is to promote a rigorous, inclusive, and transcultural understanding of Reiki as a practice of care, awareness, and relationship.

The association’s main activities include:

  • a professional certification pathway in Reiki Therapy, developed according to clear ethical and educational standards that value both technical competence and the quality of the therapeutic relationship, encouraging a mindful dialogue with biomedical perspectives and fully aligned with Italian Law 4/2013 on non-organized professions;
  • the annual Reiki Tour in Japan, conceived as an experiential and ethnographic study journey focused on practice, landscape, and embodied experience;
  • regular in-person and online Reiki practice sessions, open to all and designed as shared spaces of practice, listening, and embodied learning, fostering accessibility and continuity beyond formal training contexts;
  • research on Reiki, embodiment, and cultural translation within the fields of cultural anthropology, anthropology of well-being, cultural studies, and decolonial perspectives;
  • conferences, seminars, and public events aimed at promoting a culture of Reiki grounded in listening, relational awareness, and ethical reflection.

Membership

Membership is open to individuals and associations who share My Reiki’s ethical principles and wish to deepen their understanding of Reiki as a relational, cultural, and embodied practice. Members are encouraged to uphold educational and ethical standards that respect the person, the notion of care, and the complexity of Reiki practice.

Practitioners, teachers, and supporters may join My Reiki by adhering to the association’s Statute, Code of Ethics, and Educational Standards.
